What are Royalty Splits?
Royalty Splits are automatic divisions of a song's or release's royalties with other users. The song owner or the distributor administrator must specify the percentage, the start month, and the email of the user who will receive the Split (Splitter) in order to create an invitation. The Splitter must accept or reject the invitation, and has 30 days to take one of these actions.
Who can create Royalty Splits?
If you have this feature* enabled, all your users can create, edit, and delete Royalty Splits. If you have subscription plans, you can also limit this to users who have an active plan.
*If you don't have this feature enabled, you can contact the sales team to acquire it.
Can Splits be sent to someone who isn't a user of the distributor?
Yes. If the email the Royalty Split is sent to doesn't correspond to a user registered with your distributor, an invitation email will be sent to them to create an account, so they can then accept the Split.
How long does the user receiving the Split have to accept the invitation?
The Split invitation is valid for 30 days. If the user receiving the Split doesn't accept the invitation within that time, the Split percentage reverts to the owner.
What happens if the user receiving the Split rejects the invitation?
If the user receiving the Royalty Split rejects the invitation, or doesn't accept it within the 30-day period, the percentage sent reverts to the song owner.
Can distributor administrator users create Splits?
