What are Royalty Splits?
Royalty Splits are automatic divisions of royalties from a song or release with other users. The song owner must specify the percentage, start month, and the recipient’s email to create an invitation. The recipient must accept or decline the invitation.
Who can create Royalty Splits?
Active Premium plan users can create, edit, and delete Royalty Splits.
Does the recipient need to be a Premium user?
No. Basic plan users can receive Splits.
Can I send a Split to someone who is not a Random Sounds user?
Yes. If the email address does not correspond to a registered user, we will send an email with instructions on how to register a new account. This process is free of charge.
Can I create Royalty Splits as a Basic plan user?
No, you need to subscribe to Premium to create Royalty Splits.
What happens to my Royalty Splits if I downgrade from Premium?
Sent Splits remain exactly as configured. However, you will not be able to edit or delete them if you’re no longer on the Premium plan. You can still receive Splits regardless of your plan.
How long does the recipient have to accept the invitation?
The Split invitation is valid for 30 days. If the recipient does not accept within this period, the percentage reverts to the owner.
What happens if the recipient declines the invitation?
If the recipient declines or doesn’t accept within 30 days, the percentage returns to the song owner.
Can my team members create Splits?
Yes, team Administrators can create Royalty Splits. The Team Owner will receive an email notification for any creation, editing, or deletion of Splits within the catalog.
Can I edit or delete a Royalty Split?
Yes, you can modify or delete your Splits. Other recipients will need to accept the new invitation.
