What is a DDEX Party Identifier (DPID)?

Updated today

The DDEX Party Identifier (DPID) is an identification tool used exclusively by music distributors. If you’re an artist or a label, you do not need a DPID.

What is DDEX?

DDEX (Digital Data Exchange) is a global consortium of media companies, music licensing organizations, digital service providers, and technical intermediaries. Its goal is to establish standardized formats for exchanging data within the digital media supply chain.

Adopting DDEX standards helps:

  • Improve operational efficiency

  • Reduce administrative costs

  • Increase revenue for all participants in the ecosystem
