Prohibited Artist Names

1. Generic Artist Names

• A generic artist name is not valid.

• Music performed under a “generic” artist name will be rejected for distribution.

2. Music Genres

• Music genres are not valid artist names.

• Do not submit your music with an artist name like “Tango,” “Acoustic Piano Man,” “MC Hip-Hop,” or “The Classics.”

3. Music Descriptions

• Descriptions of music are not valid artist names.

• If you have written an album of sad love songs, your artist name cannot be “Sad Love Songs.”

4. Moments or Places for Listening to Music

• Moments or places for listening to music are not valid artist names.

• Do not use artist names like “Music for Relaxation,” “Spa Sounds,” “Merry Christmas,” or “Party Songs.”

5. Imitations of Other Artists

• The name of a famous artist, even if slightly modified, is not a valid artist name.

• Do not use artist names like “Be Y Once,” “Ade$e,” or “Sonrisas Davis.” Your music will be rejected by distribution services.
